KINGSTON OBITUARIES W.S. Kingston W.S. Kingston, who at one time operated the ferry here and later moved to near Newport, died Sunday, buried at Tuckerman (AR.). Mrs. Fortune, best known as Miss Cressie Williams, was also present. Taken from the Jan. 18, 1929 issue of the Cotter Record Cotter, AR. W.S. is the son of William Henry and Sarah King(s)ton. Mrs. Clyde Fortune Mrs. Cressie Marie Fortune, aged 22 years, died at the Gray Sanitarium shortly after noon. She had undergone an operation several days ago and her condition had been critical from the outset. Mrs. Fortune came to Newport as a bride more than four years ago and after spending some months here went to Jacksonport to make her home. By her gentle and kind disposition she made friends of all with whom she came in contact and her death at such a young age has brought sorrow and sadness to all who loved her. She is survived by her husband and two children, a daughter, Colleen, aged 3 years and an infant son, Darrell, aged 6 weeks. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mark V. Williams of Cotter, and two brothers, Ted Williams of Cotter, and Logan Williams, of Fulton, also survive. Funeral arrangements are being made by the New Furniture Store and services will be held at Umsted Memorial Methodist Church at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon with Rev. A. E. Grimes and Rev. A. E. Holloway officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. |
