"43 PUTNAM COUNTY BOYS OFF TO CAMP FUNSTON IN WORLD WAR I"

It was a big day back on Wednesday, September 19, 1917, when 43 Putnam County young men left for service in World War I. They went to Camp Funston in Kansas. A paragraph in The Republican from the 1917 issue had the following to say:
