There are eight Sabbats to give recongition during our calendar year. A Sabbat is a major holiday while the Esbats are the minor holidays.
*Generally, the New Year falls at Samhain, which is
the Sabbot held October 31. Festivities can last
for 3 days. Its the time of winter moving in, death of the land. Its a time of darkness. A time to remember
ancestors that have gone on into the SummerLand of rest.
*Yule is the next Sabbat. Its taditionally held around
the 20-22 of December. Winter Solstice.
*Imbolc is held February 2.
*Ostara is held the beginning of Spring March 20-22
*Beltane is May 1.
*Summer Solstice is June 20-22
*Lughnasadh or Lammas, is held in August. 1st or 2nd.
