Favouite Names

Hey, my name is Antonio and this is my site, just to state the obvious. I've never been good at these autobiographical things so here's my stab at it.

I have many hobbies and interests, and a lot of them contrast with eachother... meh!

I love anything to do with music and I feel that it is a great part of my life. I like to write instrumental music, I can play the trumpet, guitar, piano, flute, ocarina, I can sing, and I am currently teaching myself how to play the booguraboo [sp?] (similar to a djembe - an African hand drum), and the didjeridu (didgeridoo or Yirdaki - it's aboriginal name).  I like almost every type of music, as long as it has a good beat, , good lyrics (if any), rhythm, and emotion (emotion is key).

I have many favourite songs in many different genres.  Right now my favourite band is Iron and Wine.  An Indy band that I don't yet know much about, but the music is so absolutely beautiful.  Whe I play it I can't conentrate on anything stressful; I just tune everything out and bask in it's awesomeness, especially to their song Jezabel.  Check them out for sure!  One of the songs that I believe describes my attitude on life, well at least partially, is Life by Our Lady Peace.  Impressive video as well, I must add.

I am a collector of dragons, wizards, elves and other sorts of mythical things.  I love to read! I'll read almost anything as long as it has a good plot and not a very slow read, doesn't matter how many pages. My personal favorites are fantasy and science fiction and books about self actualization. The novel that started my interest in reading for myself and my interest in fantasy is A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula Le Guin.  My favorite novel is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho; my favorite series is The Belgariad and it's sequel series The Malorian, by David Eddings.  Life of Pi was a fantastic read and one of the best stories I have ever read. 100 Years of Solitude has definitely changed a part of me for the better and the way I view the family and it's history.   I definitely recommend these two books to anybody and everybody.

During the summer of 2002, I developed a passion for rock climbing. I used to frequent a rock climbing gym in Toronto and I climb outdoors whenever I can (weather permitting). I love the view of rock formations, and when I'm up several feet, it's such a rush! I guess I've always been a little monkey. :)

Blue and Yellow are my two favorite colours but I love wearing Black and White; purple, and silver are also my fave's. I frequent concerts. I love to mosh & crowd surf; the better the band the better the crowd (and by better I don't mean popular cause then all you get is little kids who can't hold people up and just stand there, and complain while others get hurt... AHHHH!) I like to go to raves (though I haven't been to one in a while). They're lots of fun. I love meeting new people at them, they're so nice and good to talk to. I'm a very social person. I like to babble (like I think I'm doing right now...). heh!

I'm a philosopher at heart.  I love to think about things that are not easily answerable; to question life, and the reason why things happen (anything).  I am an honest person.  I try my absolute best not to lie, unless under certain circumstances and with good reason.  If you ask me a question, I'll most likely answer it honestly, whether you'll like the answer or not, or I just won't answer.  I hate when a friend asks me a question and I tell them the truth then they get mad at me and tell me what I should say next time.  Damn Hypocrites! What kind of friend isn't able to tell the other the truth?  I'm not angry though.

I don't really waste my time defending myself against petty sarcasm or insults (unless it's necessary of course).  This, however, does not mean that I do not stand up for myself.  I do.  I'm a tolerant person in many aspects.  I do not negatively discriminate (or I try my hardest not to, nobody's completely flawless).  Some of my friends say it's gushy-ness or whatever, but I understand that people are different, look different, and understand things differently.  I'm more of an observer most of the time.  Though sometimes, only sometimes, I may miss the obvious point (like I said, no one's perfect), I tend to notice things that others usually don't or what they take for granted.  I know people better than they think.  I consider myself a good person, as well as an optimist (at most times).  There's always those iffy moments when frustration kicks in and...  well...

I don't know what else to say.  For those of my friends who read this.  I hope you've learned a bit more about me (if you don't already know it) And for those who don't know me, well, now you kind of do. (kind of...) (or you're just thinking, "damn this guy is weeeeird, I'm outa here!")

My Advice-like Area

Every person has the right to justify their actions when they are confronted or accused of something.  Regardless how ridiculous the justifications may be, the accused deserves nothing less than that chance.  The accuser may choose to believe the justifications or not, but at least the due chance is given.  The accuser may also learn something that was not known nor  considered before the accusation was made.  This may ultimately correct false accusations or prevent rash corrective decisions before they are implemented.

For those who are stuck on dividing the world into two types of people, I believe the following is as precise as you can get.
There are two types of people in this world: those who accept things the way they are, and those who try to change them.
(I'm not sure if this has been said before. It most likely has.  It just popped into my head while I was in the kitchen :)
