David Carlyle went to Texas.
Thomas Edward Carlyle (1813-1897) was born in Virginia. He married Caroline Lynde (1814-1853) in 1838 in Richland County, Ohio. Then they went to Livingston County, Missouri where they appeared in the 1840 and 1850 censuses. It is thought they went to Lafayette County, Missouri shortly after 1850 where Caroline died. In 1853 Thomas gave his two youngest children to John and Jane Winfrey of Johnson County, Missouri to raise. In 1856 he married Mrs. Alice Chichester (1812) in Lafayette County, Missouri where they appeared in the 1860 and 1870 censuses. By 1880 Alice had died and Thomas was living with his younger son, William Warner, in Johnson County, Missouri. In the 1880 census Thomas was listed as a huckster. Doing this he traveled a lot and lived in his covered wagon, even when he was staying with his son. Thomas died in 1897 and is buried in the Elm Spring Cemetery, Johnson County, Missouri.
The children of Thomas and Caroline (Lynde) Carlyle: Infant Daughter (c 1838), David A. (1840), Mary Catherine (1843), Minerva (1845), William Warner (1848), Lydia Jane(1850).
Thomas and Alice (Chichester) Carlyle did not have any children.
George Washington Carlyle (1816-1855) was born in Virginia. He married Susan Matthews about 1834 probably in Ohio. In about 1838 they went to Livingston County, Missouri where they appeared in the 1840 and 1850 censuses. He died in 1855 in Livingston County, Missouri.

Martha (1836), Elmore (1843), and Susan (1845).
Lafayette Carlyle (1826-1903) was born in Virginia. In the 1850 census he was living with his brother George Washington in Livingston County, Missouri. In 1862 he married Mrs. Belinda Bates (1829-1898). In 1870 and 1880 they were living in Livingston County, Missouri.
The children of Lafayette and Belinda Carlyle: Rosa (1863), Dora
Belle (1865), Oscar Butler (1872), and Scottie E. (1875) [female].
Mary Jane Carlyle (1828-1882) was born in Va. She married David C. Legg (1814) in 1845 in Bowie County, Texas where they were living in 1850. By 1860 they were living in Limestone County, Alabama and by 1870 they were in Lawrence County, Tennessee, where they remained.
The children of David C. and Mary Jane (Carlyle) Legg: William W. (1847), Eliza J. (1849), Joel E. (1854), Mary E. Theodocia (1857), Celeste (1857), Va (1860), Rufus E.(1861), Cleopatria (1865), and Emily E. (1868).
