THE SURE WORD OF PROPHECY
We have today in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA a very precious heritage. It was founded by God fearing men, who believed in prayer. When the time came for the writing of the Constitution, Benjamin Franklin set forth in every session, that it should be opened with prayer. He stood by his request with the following words: " I have lived a long time, and the longer I live the more I am convinced when I see this truth - that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it possible that an empire can rise without His aid ? " When we come together to celebrate each anniversary year of Independance, we should always remember the principles which characterized our early beginnings, and which also contributed so very much to our rise to the power that now exists. If, on the other hand, we forsake these precepts, then we could very well see the blessings of our Almighty God withheld from us, and then our great nation would begin to decline. The motto, " IN GOD WE TRUST, " should alway be first in our lives, and more than a statement that appears on our coins and currency, it must be a deep seated conviction in the hearts of all our people along with those who are adopted by America. We should realize today that America is threatened from without and from within. There is a vocal minority who is succeeding in eliminating from our way of life the very moral and good things that brought us to greatness. Prayer has been replaced by a few disgruntled folks who politically and worldly do not feel the need of God in their lives, our schools and goverment. God has been replaced by materialism and false ideas that our private and national affairs can be handled completely apart from God. This is refered to as the " New Age Movement. " Praise the Lord, that there are folks here and there that will raise their voices, loud and clear and call our nation to repentance and prayer. God bless those faithful pastors and evangelist who clearly sound the call to the people to return to God. And that Christians, pray that the message will reach the hearts of all people until we live and breathe again the statement, " IN GOD WE TRUST, " which must and shall be a living reality in all of our hearts.
