CONCERNING JUDGES,SHERIFFS AND POLICE

ROMANS 13:1 thru 7 and I PETER 2:13 thru 17
These scriptures concerns civil powers and authority to be regarded with respect, both in speaking to them and about them.
It requires obedience to their commands in things lawful and honest, along with other things, being patient without resistance, but conformity to the conditions that: "They are higher powers; be content they should be so, and submit to them accordingly."
Remember, it is not for nothing that God hath put such a power into the hands of Judges, Sheriffs and Police; But it is intended for the restraining and suppressing of disorders. This authority is intended for the good of mankind and not terror to good works, but to evil works.
Remember they bear the sword; not only the sword of war, but the sword of justice. They are Heirs Of Restraint, to put offenders to shame.
A praise goes out to those that do well. Those that keep in the way of their duty shall have commendations and protection of the civil powers, to their credit and comfort.
But pity it is that ever this gracious intention should be perverted, and those who bear the sword, while they countenance and conive at sin, should be a teror to those who do well. But so it is with any power:
"It's Use, It's Dis-Use and It's Abuse. "
From our interest in these good and bad actions, we should derive the following: " You receive the benefits and advantage of the justice system and law enforcement, and there fore you must do what you can to help preserve it, and nothing to disturb it." Protection draws allegience. If we receive protection from the justice system and law enforcement, we owe subjection to it; by upholding it's moral and legal concepts, thus we are keeping true to our christian responsibility. Hence it appears that laws with penalties for the lawless and disobedient must be constituted in a christian nation like America, and are agreeable with, and not contradictory to, the word of God.
I TIMOTHY 1:9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers.
FACT: In the Old Testament and the New Testament, the word of God speaks out in favor of Capital Punishment, to be executed by those in authority, when men become such beasts, such ravenous beast, one to another, they must be dealt with accordingly, taken and destroyed in " terrorem - - to deter others, " in this work, the Judge acts as God's agent to whom vengence belongs. ROMANS 13:4 "....: for he is a minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil."
This judicial process of the most faithful judge, through some faint resemblence and prelude to the White Throne Judgements of that Great Day, yet it comes short of the harsh judgement of God in that day. REVELATION 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
REVELATION 21:8 "But the fearful, and unbeliever, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."
