" Jesus speaks of this in His discourse on the Holy Spirit, and He demonstrated it also in His ministry. The great example, His dealings with Zacchaeus. The greatest pulpit in the history of the Church was when Zacchaeus climbed up into that sycamore tree in order to see Jesus. The message is very simple it preaches a sermon on the power of love and kindness that wins the lost and searching. That is the story of how Christ won Zacchaeus.Just think for a moment, that as Jesus stopped and looked up in that tree at him, and that if He spoke out, " child of the devil! You beat the poor,and turn out orphans and widows into the streets, how will you escape the dammation of hell? " Jesus had demonstrated on other occasions that He was able to condemm, and be severe when it was necessary, in a language far beyond that which we have suggested. But " Praise God," here was a man who was still capable of being won for God. Had Jesus denounced him, there would never have been, nor would we have ever heard about Zacchaeus. Instead of that, Jesus'love and kindness to him on that day was the means of winning a soul and transforming a life into living water. We can learn many things from this story of the little man up in that tree, so let us use this example today, by showing kindness and love to the lost and searching.
