"Mmm. He'll pop up eh. Sure he will. Boy looks like they
sure handed him over to ya tay." Taylor was ignoring his brother. So he had been
wrong. Zac hadn't been at the Dentra's house like he had guessed, which meant he had
to be hiding somewhere. In either event, he would be home soon and Isaac would
finally understand there had been nothing to worry about. "Taylor your not
listening to me." Taylor whipped around. "Your right I'm not Ike. Now maybe
this irritation was brought on by being around each other too much, but it still leaves
the problem. Your paranoid! He's fine! He will be fine. Stop worrying about him and
go do something usefull. Angie wants your company I'm sure of it. Why don't you go
over there and moan and Bitch to her." Taylor went back to his television
watching. "Oh gee. Love you too. And you could show a little concern about Zac
you know." "Why should I? If Zac Dentra taught him to smoke pot then I'm sure he
taught him to come home when he thought he should." Isaac scowled at
Taylor. "Zac didn't teach our brother anything but a bad habit I'm sure of
it." "He's not a bad kid Ike, either of them are. So our little drummer boy had a run
in with drugs. We'll call it an experiment. Deal with it then move on. Zac is smart
enough to know that he should stay away from it, it's only trouble. He'll be done with
these problems when he gets home I'm sure." Standing in the living room next to a
too confident brother, Isaac felt like screaming. He didn't feel as great as Taylor did
about the situation. The first reason would be the fact their little brother was doing
drugs. A Hanson was doing drugs. Second, he'd runaway, or sort of. And they hadn't
found him yet, and third, if their parents found out either of the two, all three of them
would be locked in their rooms on the exception of a show and a meal occasionally,
forever. Isaac felt he had perfect grounds for being worried. "Tay! We have to do
something!" "Right. We sit here and wait for him to come home." "Then listen to music." Jeremy was still flipping through magazines,
reading the latest on snowboarding in the rockies. Zac had just leaned over his
shoulder to read too, but now found it boring. "All my CD's suck." Without
looking, Jeremy fished into his backpack, pulling out a CD case. "Have a hay
ride." "When are we going to get there?" Dorin tapped him on the
shoulder. "Not for about an hour. Sit back and sleep if your bored." "I can't
sleep." Dorin shrugged. "Too bad." Zac threw himself against the back of his
seat, causing his sister to gripe. "Damnit Zac these fold out tables don't take
obnoxious kids thumping them around when there's sprite on them." Zac moved his
lips to immitate his sister. She was getting annoying. "I wanna get
there!" His hair was tucked under the
cap and a baggy jacket took care of an orange shirt. Looking down at his pants he
wondered if they were okay. As long as they weren't yellow or orange he would be
fine. "I'm glad D has extra blue jeans." He walked through the wing which held
the company in which his plane was from, and looked up to follow the gate
numbers. "I hate big places, by myself." He wrapped his fingers more tightly
around his hand bag, making sure he didn't let it go for one moment. "There it
is." He ducked over to the desk and stood behind the three people. "Hurry up. I
just wanna sit down and wait." The line seemed to slow down after he made his
comment, and from then on he refrained. Finally he made it to the desk, the ticket
clerk curiously took his ticket. "What's your last name." He paused. "Umm.
If I tell you you won't tell anyone right?" She frowned. "Fine.
Hanson." "Spell it please." Zac sighed. Duh. Like no one knew how to spell
hanson. "H-A-N-S-O-N." She grinned. "I know. I was just seeing if you'd
do it. So where are your brothers." Zac slumped his shoulders. "Away. Far far
away. And if it says anything on the news about me, and there's a hotline they say you
should call. Do me a favor. Don't." She smiled akwardly and handed his ticket back
to him. "Nice flight." He waved to her. "Shyeah. As long as there's no girl
under 20 and over 10. "He's asleep?" "Yup. He bugs us
for an hour on when we're going to get there, we tell him to sleep, so he waits til we're
ten minutes out." Dorin shook his head as he reached over to Zac. "Hey kid
wake up." His little brother didn't stir. "Zac. We're here. The big apple. You
have to get up. Otherwise we leave your ass on the plane and find another drummer
for tonight." "Well why didn't you get me some coffee or something." Zac sat
up abruptly. "You weren't asleep at all were you." "I think I dozed." The
stewardess walked past them, making sure they stayed seated until everyone else
exited the plane. "Life of a teenage pop star. I wonder if they make Han
wait." Zac paused for a minute. Speaking of Han, he wondered how his friends
lonely airport trip was going. Probably fine. He was Zac Hanson. He'd do just
great. "Alright now, you can go." The stewardess allowed them to stand up,
grab their bags and she stayed directly in front of them as they made their way off the
plane. "My daughter is in love with you guys, and girl." Mercy smiled at her
comment. Someone remembered her for once. "Is that a fact?" Jeremy was
sounding very interested. "Yes. She has her room filled with posters. And all of
your CDs I think." Zac leaned closer to Dorin. "She did mean singular, as in
CD right?" He laughed as Dorin shoved him away. "Well, I'm glad you have a
who's what fan." The stewardess turned to him. "Me too. Now I can tell her
how much of a smart ass their drummer is, and she'll care." Jeremy laughed,
looking back to catch Zac's surprised look. They stepped off the ramp to see a few
guards already waiting them, and to their great delight, no fans. "I feel sorry for
the Hansons." "Why?" "We had like 6 fans following us and we were crying.
They get like, 40 and they some how manage to get through the whole
thing." "They're big boys. I'm a girl." "That was a very sexist thing to say about
yourself." "No it wasn't. It was in my own defense." "Oh. Well I was waiting for
the snide remark." "Like what." "Like, Of course they made it through. They
are three girls. They can do it and do it well." "I'm so over that
Zac." "Mmmhmm. I believe you." He had grown
uneasy as a few girls had entered the waiting area, but had relaxed when he saw they
barely gave him a second glance. He just wished the departing time would get
there much sooner. "Relax
Ike. I'm not going to tell you once more." "I'm not going to relax til we find out
where he is." "He'll be home soon Ike, sit down and watch Rikki lake with me
now." Buckling his
seat belt, he sunk back into the chair and looked out the window. "Just relax for a
while. Be cool, sleep. You'll get up when you get there and get a cab. The Dentra's
should be busy at letterman." The steward stopped by him, and waited. Looking
up cautiously he watched her. "Want something to drink?" He took a deep
breath. "Uh yeah please, Dr. Pepper?" "It'll be right up." Zac grinned. "I don't think hiding is the way to put
it. Temporarily out of action maybe." He sat back, letting the padded grey chair on
the letterman show just support his weight. This was a rip. Letterman had asked them
nothing of importance, and they weren't even on here to play. Just to 'disguss'. So Zac
decided to take matters into his own hand. "So how old are you all now? Older
then those hanson kids?" Mercy started to grin. "Those Hanson kids? Wow.
Comparison to Hanson." Zac laughed. "Can we take it?" Jeremy threw up
his hands. "I think I'm going to need a drink of water. I'm a little surprised
here." Letterman rolled his eyes, smiling at the camera, his gap being quite visible.
"Well rumors have it you live just a few blocks away from them." Dorin looked
at the ceiling. "6 to be completely accurate." Letterman smiled again. "Boy
you guys are talkative tonight." "Guys and a girl thanks." Mercy butted in,
making her gender apparent. Zac cocked his head. "I'm taking that as entirely
sarcastic. I'm hurt Dave, tremendously. Really." Zac smiled a loving smile at the
show host and nodded his head. "Yes, we talk a lot, we're talkers, and when we
talk, you learn interesting things. Very interesting things, like…..we talk." Jeremy
smiled. Being on any kind of show with his siblings had proven to be a new and
exciting experience. It really wasn't anything like what he thought it would be, there
was more bustling and hurrying, and it was damn hot. He had sat thinking, and
when he realized he had practically thought the entire segment away, he looked over at
his sister, who looked annoyed. Of course not annoyed in anyway that the public and
the audience would notice, but annoyed in a way that your brother would notice. Why?
Cause he was your brother. Jeremy listened as David letterman rambled off about
music, lifes, dating and blond hair, and when he finally turned to his guests and tv
viewers to tell them it was time to go, Jeremy must have seemed quite the quiet one.
The sound of applause and whistling made Jeremy look over at his
interviewer. "Well. It was fun." Jeremy smiled. Oh yeah, a whole lotta
fun." Looking over at Zac, he watched as Mercy slugged Dorin one and Letterman
shook her hand. Screams from the audience and yells of 'Hey over here' went in
one ear and out the other. It was going to be a long month.
"This is
dumb."
Zac pulled the blue hat down over his face. D had said be to the
airport an hour before departure. That meant Zac had to go through Tulsa's terminal,
without a body guard, and stay there for more then two hours. He hoped security
would let him live in the men's bathroom for a while.
"He's asleep."
20 minutres and he would board the
plane. He would be on the plane to New York, and he would get there, in one piece.
Hopefully no smart assed flight attendant would muck up his plans.
"Been an hour, and no sign of little brother."
Zac sat down in his seat. The one by the window, just like he was
supposed to. The woman that helped him find his place had told him this flight was
anything but packed, so he might even have all three seats to himself.
"So I hear
you guys are sorta, hiding."
