Taylor jerked his head
up. "Aww man. What on earth…" He rubbed the back of his neck as he
sat foreward. Turning around he realized where he had been sleeping.
"Damn bed. Why is it I find the most uncomfortable places to
sleep." "TAYLOR GOD DAMN YOU!" He shot up. His mother
usually never cussed around him, especially at…at what time was it anyway.
Four in the morning! He jumped up and raced to the top of the
stairs. "I've been trying to get you up for the past 2 minutes you bone
head! Get your butt down here! You're about to have kids!" Taylor felt his
heart hit the bottom of his stomach. He was sure it made a splash when it
hit. A shiver went through him as he ran down the stairs, slipping
occasionally but not stopping. "What do I do." He stood at the foot of
the stairs trembling and watching Mercy peacefully eating a pear. "What
are you doing!!! We have to get you to the hospital!!!" He ran to her and
then back to the steps. "Your stuff!" Mercy turned to Diana and
grinned. Sure. She was definitely in labor. The increasing sickness she
was experiencing and occasional pains told her something was up. In either
event, no signs of gushing water and Diana said no worry til then. Her
doc had said to get there anyway, the second she was sure, and this was no
fluke. Mey didn't feel like these two babies were pulling on her to get out just
everyday. So Diana had awoken Taylor, allowing him ample time to distress
and cry for help, until he realized neither of them was moving from the couch
where they now sat. They heard him come down the stairs again, this time
slipping only once, carrying a small bag brimming with clothing. "What are
you guys doing!!!!" Diana put a finger to her lips. "Your going to wake
the kids up. Not so loud." He looked at her in awe. "Mother. You woke
me up when you had Zoe AND Mack!! I think they can experience the
thrill." She now pointed her finger at him. "Don't start with me young
man. Your girlfriend here is about to pop and she doesn't need to hear all
that." "That's why I'm trying to get you to the hospital!" Mercy set down
her half eaten pear. "Kay. I'm ready now." Taylor shook his
head. Running to the door he walked outside. "He forgot me." The
two laughed. Taylor came back through the door. "The car is on.
Warming up, and the bag is in the back seat…or do you want the back seat
Mey? Or does mom, and what about her family. Who's going to call them?
Will Ike want to kn…." Diana walked to Taylor. "Tay sweets. Go over,
assist your pregnant girlfriend up, take her to the car, place her in the back
seat, and I'll be out in a minute. I'm going to go upstairs and tell your father
we're going okay." Taylor nodded his head with every word she
said. "Dad will want to come though!" "What. You don't want your
father there?" Taylor sighed and shook his head vigorously. "If he
comes too there'll be too many in the car!" "Taylor. Your father will be in
later this morning to see okay. It takes a while to have a baby." He shook
his head and sighed again. "But mom!" She took his face in her
hand. "Taylor. Your father has seen ALL seven of you born. He'll see
yours after it's born okay." He nodded with her. "Now, lets get in the
car, help Mey Taylor don't just leave her there." Taylor clumsily walked to
Mercy. Reaching out his hand he grasped hers. "Tay hon stop
shaking." He sighed deep. "I don't know how all of you can just be
calm. I'm shakin' like an old timer and you ate a pear." She smiled, pulling
herself up with his help. "Tay. I've had them in there for a while. I'm used
to them. They ARE ready to come out." He smiled weakly and helped her
to the car. "What the
hell…." Sitting up he pulled his hair back out of his face, rubbing his eyes
and stretching he whipped the covers off of himself. Jumping off the bed
he ran to the door of his room. No one was downstairs. "HEY
ANYONE??" Peering as far as he could see, he cocked his head to one
side. "Where the hell are they all." He turned around and walked back
to his room. "Hey Han. Get up." His friend mumbled and continued
sleeping. "ZAC!" His friend rolled over and snapped up. "GOD! I
DON'T SCREAM AT YOU IN THE MORNING!" He too rubbed the sleep
from his eyes and stood up. "Now what." Zac Dentra shrugged his
shoulders. "Did Dorin say anything to you last night about going anywhere
today?" Zac Hanson shook his head. "Why?" "Cause no one's
home." Zac Hanson looked at his best friend. "Maybe they wanted to
go to breakfast or something." Zac Dentra smiled. "Yeah. Or have a
baby or something." "Your gonna be an uncle." "Yeah well so are you." "Twenty
one year old uncles." "Yeah. Twenty one year old guitar playing teen idol
uncles." "That are blond." "Real blond." Isaac stared at the door to
the room vacantly. "Wonder when she's going to have those
kids." Dorin shrugged. "Wonder if it hurts." Isaac let out a
laugh. "Oh, you want a treat. Go ask my mom what she thinks of men and
child labor. She'll tell you how it feels alright." Dorin pointed at a chair
down the hall a little. "Poor Taylor. He's run himself ragged this
morning." "And it's only 10 o'clock." "Is he asleep?" "Nope. That's
Tay's way of saying he's real stressed out." "You mean vedging. Not
saying." "That too." "He's real stressed huh." Isaac paused then
nodded slowly. "I feel sorry for him. He has no idea those kids aren't
coming for a good 4 hours." "God damnit what the HELL is wrong with
this world!!!" Jumping out of bed for what he thought would be the second
to last time that day, he jumped over Zac Hanson who had started to
stir. "Han, get your ass up, whoever is downstairs must not know that
noon is not a nice time to wake teenagers up." Dragging Zac Hanson from
the floor, he pulled his hair back and stepped out of the room. The two of
them jumped down the steps, taking three steps each and when they reached
the bottom Jeremy was sitting on the sofa looking directly at them. "I was
beginning to wonder when the biggest pains in my ass were going to wake
up." Zac walked to the stereo, now blaring the radio and slapped the
power button. "What the hell is your problem. It's noon. We went to bed
late last night. I don't want to be up and either does Han!"
Jeremy crossed his hands over his chest. "Oh well cry me a
river." The two 15 year olds glared at Jeremy. "Zac Dentra your sister
is 8 ours into labor, and the doc says she's goin' real soon. So if you'd like to
come see your soon to be niece and nephew, you'll get your ass right
upstairs, dress so that the fumes don't cause some sort of bacterial infection
in the hospital, get some decent shoes on, and pull your Mmmbop singing
friend with you to my car in less then three minutes flat. Otherwise, I let Diana
and Mey deal with the both of you later." He grinned cheerfully one last
time and walked out to the car. "Oh great. Two seats left and LOOK who's next to them." Zac
Hanson nodded towards the seven chairs already accompanied and the two
empty ones. "Oh great. My dearest brother." Zac Dentra frowned at his
friend. "Like mine is ANY better." Without looking down towards their
oldest siblings, the two took their seats by them, barely glancing at the either
of them. Zac squirmed uneasily. It was bad enough he was in a hospital,
where there were sick and dying people, but he had to sit next to Isaac, who
surely didn't want him there screwing up the whole 'baby' thing. Zac
Dentra looked over at his friends tapping and swinging legs. Looking up at
Dorin he sighed. "Thanks tons for dragging our asses here
earlier." Dorin didn't make eye contact but responded. "So your mad at
me for not waking you up 7 hours ago? At 5 in the morning? Oh, you would
have been real chipper then. So if you don't want to be here now,
leave." Dorin's eyes remained fixed on the door. "It would have been
nice knowing that's all." "Too bad for you. Why should I have to deal with
you any more then I absolutely have to." Zac scowled up at Dorin. "I
didn't ask to be here." Dorin didn't want this. Not right now. Not while his
sister was having two kids with his worry stricken almost brother in law about
to keel over with faint. He didn't want it. If he'd a known Zac was going to be
this way he would have never sent Jeremy to get him. He was just trying to be
nice. Do the right thing by his family. Allow his youngest brother to take part.
Now he regretted it. Dorin stood up, walking down the aisle towards the
nurses desk. "Good job. Piss everyone off you two do. Great job. Specially
on a day like today." Zac Hanson didn't mean to be one to spoil things, but
it wasn't his brothers place to critisize his friends. "Shut the hell up
Ike." Isaac turned to look at Zac. "You've caused enough trouble keep
you mouth shut." Zac gritted his teeth. "Isaac I'm sick of this bullshit.
You don't own me, you don't rule the way I live. Stay the fuck out of my
life." Zac was about to take another verbal dig at his brother when he was
pushed back into his seat, hard and causing him to hit the wall. "God
damn you! Don't you get it! This is all me! All Mey! Can't you shut the hell up
and be quiet for ONE day of your life? Don't you get anything? This isn't
about YOU anymore! It's about us, about being a family now. Put your
godamn problem aside for one fucking day!" Taylor wiped the sweat off
his face and turned away. "Your such a godamn problem anymore." He
walked to the room and closed the door quietly despite his
anger. "God damnit I'm
not supposed to do this. This if fucking ape shit. I'm much more calm then
this." He walked around, not looking up but keeping his eyes on the tile
lines in front of him. It seemed like an eternity when only 20 minutes had
gone by. He threw himself onto the bench outside the delivery room and
sighed. "What the hell is taking so long?" Isaac patiently grinned from
his seat. Taylor had been pushed out of the delivery room, one because
he was so tired he had about fainted in the middle of it all, two, because he
kept looking nautious, and three, because the only person in the room that
made laps and got in EVERYONE's way was Taylor. "They warned you
Tay." "That's okay. It'll be on tape. Baby stuff. Slime. Nope I'm okay with
my gender. It's the male thing. I enjoy being male. No water breaking, nothing
that big coming out of something that small. I'm glad I'm a guy." The doors
in front of him popped open. Taylor choked for a moment and Isaac patted
him on the back. "Taylor I'm assuming." Isaac smiled and nodded for
him. "You can come see your babies now."
Zac Dentra was the first to wake, not being fully so until
he heard the silence of the house around him.
Dorin sat in the hall way of the hospital next to
Isaac.
Zac woke up for the second time to the
loud music from his living room.
The two Zacs walked slowly down
the white tile hall. Medics and nurses smiling warmly and passing along
busily.
Taylor paced around the room nervously.
