My Eric Lindros Poems

As he steps onto the ice,

the crowd goes wild.

Girls scream and whistle.

People shout and cheer.

When he darts up the ice,

the defense is split in two.

With the puck on the blade of his stick,

he charges at the net.

Moving from left to right,

he releases the shot with amazing power,

blasting the black disc past the opposing goaltender.

Back at center-ice,

the rubber is dropped.

He gains control once again,

and as he crosses the blue line,

the puck is passed with perfection to an awaiting teammate.

As he shoots and scores,

they celebrate,

fans raised to their feet in joy and gratitude.

The Ultimate Goal

A competitive fire and desire to win eats away at his mind as the overtime period begins

With the strength of a lococmotive, the E-Train crushes his opponents like bugs splattered against the windshield of a speeding car

The silver blades of his Bauer skates soar over the slippery, frozen surface

He moves up the rink with the power and grace of a falcon

As he closes in on the opposition's net, he rips a shot that flies faster than a bullet and blasts by the goaltender

His arms go up and he reaches the sky in celebration

He has lifted his team to victory, bringing them one step closer to the ultimate goal.

Regretful Good-bye

To me you are such a special guy,

It hurts so much to think of saying good-bye.

You try so hard and no one seems to care,

But I miss you so much when you're not out there.

Whenever I see you harshly go down,

My joyous smile transforms to a melancholy frown.

Then I think of your future, and like a child I cry.

The only thought in my head is "why?"

Why must this all happen to you?

It's so frustrating there's not a thing I can do.

You do not deserve all the bad luck you've had,

And that's why it gets me so down and so sad.

I wish I could make everything okay,

So this wonderful game again you could play.
