Never wore red (except for costumes for acting gigs) prior to "While You Were Out" (2002). Wearing red makes him uncomfortable.

Applied for an internship on Bob Vila's show prior to getting his job on "While You Were Out".

Is involved with various cancer charities since his mother survived cancer twice and his friend/costar, Michael Cuccione died from complications related to cancer.

In 2002, he and Architect Tom Granthem started Renovolution which renovates single-family homes and puts his strong interest and background in carpentry to good use.
