Things said about D'arcy

Q: What have you learned to admire in, say, D'arcy?
Billy: Well, when I was 20 I met D'arcy, my whole thing was music, music, music, 24-7. And I couldn't understand why D'arcy wasn't music, music, music 24-7. D'arcy was like "I have to have a fucking life. I can't be that way." And at that time I couldn't respect that. But as I've matured, I really respect D'arcy's strength. She does exactly what she wants to do . D'arcy showed me that you can have a life and play music.

"D'arcy's crazy, she's really great though"
~James Iha

"D'arcy is the moral conscience of the band. It's really hard to do something if D'arcy thinks it's fucked."
~Billy Corgan

"Sitting with them in late April, it becomes clear how important D'Arcy's bullheadedness is. She is as tough as she is beautiful. That toughness has served this band well."
~Interviewer

"D'arcy is like the mother hen. She tells us what's good for us, and what's not"
~Billy Corgan

Matt Pinfield: So, you had D'arcy doing some back up on the record. What was that like with D'arcy?
James Iha: It's kinda like having your sister over to sing some vocals...I mean, you know.
Matt: Yeah, you've been really tight since the conseption of the band.
James: Yeah, she's really great, and we get into these like, brother/sister arguements like "Come on, do some more vocals" "No, I'm tired. I want some tea." "Well, okay, I'll get you some tea. What else do you want?" I don't know.
