What must one do to be saved?

This is one of the simplest, yet most difficult questions to answer. Different people will tell you different things. The things I will tell you, will come from the Bible, in the New Testament. I read the King James Version of the Bible.

First, you have to believe that there is only one true and living God, and that His son was Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ, who was born into this world to save it.

You have to agree to yourself first that you want to change your life, and do the things that God has commanded of you set forth by Jesus Christ in the New Testament. This is easy to say, but not as easy to do, because this world has so many temptations to lure you away from the path to righteousness. You have to give you life over to God, and agree that God and Jesus will be your guiding light from that point forward. It is hard, but you must give God the total power to drive your life.

You must confess before God and his/her congregation that Jesus Christ is the one true and only Son of God. When one confesses this, it must be from the spirit and heart, and it must be sincere. For it says that God is a spirit and must be worshiped in spirit. God has nothing to do with the flesh that is of this earth, except that He is the One who created it.

When one confesses the above, he/she must then be baptized in full water immersion. Sprinkling water on the head does not do the trick. You need to be baptized the way John the Baptist performed his baptisms. You must be baptized by the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.

If you are sincere and want to be ready to meet Jesus, pray this simple prayer from your heart:

Lord Jesus, I admit I am a sinner. I need forgiveness. I am sorry for my sins and I don't want to sin against You anymore. I believe You are the Son of God and You died on the cross for MY sins. I also believe that You rose from the dead so that I, too, may have victory over the grave. Please forgive me now Lord and cleanse me. Come into my heart and give me a new life. Thank You, Jesus, for shedding your blood for me and for hearing and answering my prayer. Amen
