Christmas is amazing,
Candles burn with a soft glow;
Tinsel and garlands are everywhere,
Santa laughs with ho ho ho.

A wreath hangs upon the door,
A decorated tree stands tall;
Joyful music fills the air,
But the reason is the best of all.

Stop and think about this day,
Think about God's plan;
God came to earth as a tiny babe,
Dependent upon flawed man.

He didn't have to do it this way,
He could have been born among kings;
He could have worn robes of purple,
And many gold and silver rings.

But He chose a humble stable,
And parents poor in the world's eyes;
His first guests were poor shepherds,
And animals filled with sighs.

This is God we are talking about,
The God full of mercy and grace;
And why did He do all of this?
To love you and to take your place.
