The Teenager

Matt's a teenager, boy! does it show,
In his attitude and his baggy clothes;
He loves to tease, quite a fun guy,
And yet you have to ask yourself why....

H e's so smart but it doesn't show,
He doesn't want the world to know;
Girls now invade his thoughts,
Battles, now, are going to be fought.

He loves his music, it fills his head,
So now I know there is nothing to dread;
He's tall and lean just like Dad,
Matt is really quite a lad.

I love him but I'm not the only one,
His family loves him and thinks he's fun;
And when we all are needing a laugh,
Matt can be really quite daft.

Matt will soon become a man,
And take his place in our land;
We shall beam with pride and joy,
For we knew him as a teenage boy.

Matt is my grandson. Matt joined the Marines this year and has really matured into a fine young man. I am really proud of him.
