Christmas
is on its
way,
It shows a
little more
each day;
In the stores,
in the streets,
In children's
faces oh so
sweet.
Lights shine
oh so bright,
Colors abound,
what a sight;
Trees are
dressed in
colorful balls,
Holly is spread
down through
the halls.
But often
I wonder inside
my heart,
Do people
know where
it got its
start?
A babe was
born through
the night,
To give the
world its
spiritual
sight.
Forgiveness
is the gift
He brought,
The Messiah
which we had
sought;
A new covenant,
it was made,
The price
of our sins
has been paid.
As you celebrate
Christmas
this year,
Don't be surprised
at a tear;
As you ponder
this babe's
life,
All He'll
suffer, all
the strife.
Christmas
is a time
of joy,
We hail the
coming of
this boy;
Let's thank
God for His
Son,
We only need
this One.
So receive
the blessings
of this season,
As you remember
the true reason,
For all the
hoopla and
the joy,
It was the
birth of Jesus,
boy.
