Christmas 2006 promises to be a wonderful holiday. Of course Christmas is a very special holiday to me. Love abounds during this time of year and that is as it should be. Our Lord and Savior's birthday is the day we celebrate and no one ever showed more love than He.

The heavens above were clear,
The stars shone so bright;
The shepherds tended their sheep,
Oblivious to happenings that night.

For the Savior of the world is born,
In a manger filled with hay;
The angels brought them the news,
Of where the Messiah lay.

He came in a lowly state,
Not in the castle of a king;
He was here to save souls,
Not the world's material things.

The first christmas gift to us,
Was God's only Son;
A child born in innocence,
He was the Holy One.

Our first precious present,
Was unconditional love;
A love so great even unto death,
He came from our Father above.

Lights and candles shine brightly,
As the holiday draws near;
But please remember always,
Why this day is so dear.

Let Christmas joy fill your heart,
Let your love for mankind beam;
Spread the message of His gift,
And your Christmas will be a dream.
