Uncle Dave and Aunt Mary

My Aunt Mary
and my Uncle Dave;
They always loved,
They always gave.

Dave found lots of precious time,
To spend with his rowdy boys;
Mary ever worked her days,
To fill their home with joy.

Four boys they raised right,
A girl was never their gift;
But if anyone was ever down,
They would give them a lift.

I often went to visit and play,
I looked forward filled with joy;
I always felt love when with them,
I was close to their oldest boy.

They've lived their daily lives,
Filled with faith and love;
They kept their eyes on Him,
That was our Lord, above.

In a girl young and scared,
They sowed the seeds of life;
They showed her life could be fun,
Even when filled with strife.

They are growing old,
As the days pass quickly by;
And I want them to know my love,
Before the day comes they die.

Their love for each other,
Shines forth a great light;
The glow touches us all,
And makes our lives all right.

This poem was written in honor of my Uncle Dave and Aunt Mary's
60th Anniversary. They still spend their days together in love.
