Easter Sunday is on my mind,
The day Jesus rose from the dead;
But the days leading up to it;
Has enough ever been said?

Jesus triumphal ride into Jerusalem,
Was marked by His tears;
He cried over the loss,
It was wiped out in later years.

Jesus and His close disciples
Together ate the Passover meal;
But Jesus changed the rules,
He changed the deal.

He suffered in Gethsemane,
As He asked, Please take it from Me;
But His will isn't what He wanted,
He wanted His Father's will to be.

He was arrested, beaten and scourged,
Accused falsely of blasphemy;
He was whipped and mocked,
He suffered all this for me.

Then Jesus was nailed to a cross,
The pain was unimaginable;
But when His Father turned away,
Life became unmanageable.

He said, "It is finished"
Then He breathed His last.
His time on this earth,
Had gone by oh so fast.

But Jesus did what we couldn't do,
He overcame sin and defeated death;
He wiped out all our wrongs,
And gave our souls new breath.

With the rising of the sun on Sunday,
Jesus was seen alive,
Now we all can find hope,
So for our best we strive.

Sing praises to our Lord and Savior,
He has given to us life;
He showed how much He loves us,
By giving us His life.
