A large snowflake floats to my hand,
With intricate design - a sight to behold;
A bright red cardinal soars through the air,
Landing in branches of beauty untold.
A blossom dances in the spring air,
A kiss arrives from a child on my cheek;
The summer sun warms my chilled skin,
These are everyday blessings to me.
There are warm clothes that hang in my closet,
There's food on our table this night;
A kitten runs franticly across the yard,
As a barking dog gives it a fright.
A chance to kneel and pray to my God,
And sing to Him praises of glee;
A moment of silence in this busy world,
All are everyday blessings for me.
I count my blessings and give thanks,
But not just for the big ones, you see;
For the smile of a friend, a pat on the back,
Are everyday blessings for me.
