The Lenten Roses are budded,
They will soon burst into bloom;
The Lilies have broken through the ground,
All these will clear winter's gloom.
The Hyacinths and Jonquils,
Are quickly awakening from sleep;
Color will once again dot the earth,
As flowers across the land creep.
The trees will dress in green,
With leaves of frilly lace;
The sun and the spring rain,
Will bring smiles to each face.
God gets out His paint brush,
And colors the earth each year;
When I think of His perfect timing,
It sometimes produces a tear.
He knows just when I need His colors,
To brighten my every day;
He knows the perfect time,
To show me He is my stay.
But the most glorious gift,
He brings to us in Spring;
Is the resurrection of His Son,
So let the praises ring.
