Wasn't
it just yesterday,
That
my first child was born;
I
was so excited
To
be a mama in the morn.
Shadows
flickered by
And
her sister was here;
She
was so tiny,
And,
oh, such a dear.
Two
sisters growing quickly,
They
grew ever so fast;
I
knew their days at home,
Were
not going to last.
Then
came the next one,
Another
girl wouldn't you know;
She
captured our hearts,
Her
presence added glow.
Wasn't
it just yesterday,
The
oldest girl was wed;
And
then before I knew it,
A
grandchild to be fed.
But
my days as a mom,
Were
not to end;
For
my son came along,
And
I started again.
Oh,
how quickly
The
years have slipped by;
My
son's almost grown,
And
I sit back and sigh.
Wasn't
it just yesterday,
That
I was a child;
Playing
games and sports,
A
tomboy gone wild.
Time
is so fleeting,
Flickering
shadows as it goes;
So
we must get ready,
Our
immortal souls.
