For me He was born in a stable,
Among the cows and the sheep;
A manger filled with hay,
Is where He laid to sleep.
For me He walked this earth,
To show me how to live;
How can I think I could repay,
When I have only my heart to give.
For me He died upon a cross,
For me He wore a crown of thorns,
For me He took on all my sins,
That's why my soul often mourns.
For me He rose from the grave,
To establish for me this Easter Day;
For me He appeared to many friends,
So we'd have witnesses of His way.
For me He sent the Holy Spirit,
To guide and lead me - help me grow;
For me He lives within my heart,
So His love I'll always know.
For me He is a mighty shield,
If only I will believe;
For me He suffered and He died,
This brings tears as I grieve.
It was for me He left His throne,
For me He wanted to save;
I thank Him each and every day,
For the price He lovingly paid.
