The Rose

Another Valentine's Day was here
And in her eye welled up a tear;
A valentine she had never seen,
From this man who filled her dreams.

Valentines, he felt was a fool's game,
Money was not spent on something so lame;
She knew his thoughts, he voiced them loud,
She knew none were for her for he was proud.

The workday was almost at an end,
She hadn't heard a word from him;
But on the way out of the door,
The receptionist says, go no more.

A note she finds in her hand,
A note of love from her man;
He says to meet him at a place,
And she leaves, a question on her face.

When she arrives at the spot so dark,
She is greeted and handed a lacey heart,
The heart says, "I love you, my Dear"
And down her cheek slides a tear.

He greets her with a kiss on her cheek,
And her eyes, they continue to leak;
When he handed her the rose of red,
All her sorrows had gone dead.

A woman's heart is easy to break,
And love for her you cannot fake;
But the smallest gift can plant the seed,
And a show of love is all she needs.

Love Is

Love is a rose that's in full bloom,
When your man walks into the room;
Love is a tear that's shed one day,
When your man must go away.

Love is a cry of sheer delight,
When he comes home again that night;
Love is an ache dep in your heart,
When something hurts him from the start.

Love is a feeling of being lonely,
When he is gone for one day only;
Love is giving throughout your day,
At every chance, in every way.

Love is forgiving when he does wrong,
And standing by him when days are long;
Love is alying beside him at night,
So you can protect him from all fright.

Love is knowing when he's happy and glad,
Laughing and smiling even though you're sad.
Love is a feeling of security,
When you know it's right and so is he.

Thee I Love

I love you, oh, so very much-
I've carved it on a tree!
I want to tell the whole wide world
How much you mean to me.

I think my trusty pocketknife
Has made my message plain.
And best of all it won't wash off
In case we have some rain.

My love will grow as years go by.
And when we're old and gray,
We can come and look again
At what I've carved today.

"There are three things that remain - faith,
hope, and love, and the greatest of these is love." Living Bible - 1Corinthians 13:13

You Have Touched So Many Hearts

You have touched so many hearts
With all the love you've shown.
You have shared your inner strength
Through the seeds of love you've sown.

You seem to warm so many hearts
By just the way you smile,
And those who know you all agree
You go the extra mile.

We're so thankful to the Lord
Because we know it's true
That he could trust your willing heart
To do what he would do.

"Love the Lord, your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind. And you must love your neighbor just as much as you love yourself."
Living Bible Luke 10:27

The Greatest Gift

"Love suffers long and is kind;
love does not envy;
love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;
does not behave rudely,
does not seek its own,
is not provoked, thinks no evil;
does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails." King James version
1Corinthians 13:4-8
