Too Many Irons

Too many irons in the fire
Can cause a big flame,
Then the people we love
Are all too often maimed.

We know there's no time,
To do what we're asked;
It's hard to say no,
So we tackle the task.

Instead of telling truth,
We deal with the pain;
Then can't understand
Why we're going insane.

The Lord asks us to love
And help those that we can;
But He knows over commitment,
Flames of discord, it can fan.

So, help when it's right,
But never be afraid
To tell someone no
In a kind and loving way.
