Jason is the son of a friend of mine that I worked with in the 70's. So, I am sure you realize that Jason is now a grown man. I haven't seen him in many years so I can't even imagine what he must look like by now. However, at this time in my life, he was a very welcomed friend.

A Boy Called Jason

There is a boy that I once knew,
His hair is dark; his eyes are blue;
And when you look into his eyes,
They make you think of ocean tides.

He's full of mischief, quite a pup,
But his spirits raise you up;
And deep within his little heart,
A flame of love has its start.

A love of man, a love of trees,
A love of God, a love of seas;
A love of lizards, snakes and snails,
A love of sands, shovels and pails.

Yes, Jason is a boy all right,
He'll learn to climb, he'll learn to fight;
And when he grows to be a man,
He'll live according to God's great plan.
