The
sun shines brightly as spring fills the air,
Children are eager to seek and dare;
Trees slip into new green frocks,
And wild flowers adorn fields and rocks.
Birds are twittering as nests they build,
Knowing with eggs they'll soon be filled;
Gardens are planted and guarded from frost,
After all that work, we don't want them lost.
The scent of lilacs permeates the air,
The wind is often a ferocious bear;
Just when we feel the sun's burn,
Ole Man Winter makes a return.
This is spring in Missouri land,
A land orf lakes and rivers grand;
In spring our land is all brand new,
Reborn and fresh, waiting for you.
