When teardrops fall
Because a heart is in pieces;
It is our mother
Who understands and tries to please us.

When we are ill
And the fevers rise;
It is our mother
Who holds us and hears our cries.

When the world is cruel,
Our dreams we stretch to reach;
It is our mother
Who is always there to teach.

When we are happy
And a smile covers our face;
It is our mother
Who will share that space.

When all our friends are gone,
And the days seem never to end;
Our mother will be there
To always be our friend.

Mothers bring us into this world,
And spend their lives to help us grow;
Teach us of God and the things we need,
And we often break her heart, you know.

So on this day dedicated to them,
May God bless our mothers in a special way;
May He help us to forever remember,
If it weren't for them, we wouldn't be today.
