Being a mother is not a glamorous job,
But one that is vital to our land;
A mother's gentle, loving guidance,
Will make future leaders take a stand.
Mothers are much more than moms you know,
They are a coach, teacher, entomologist and nurse;
They love their children so much it hurts,
And yet they know it's a blessing not a curse.
Mothers are the taxi driver and ornithologist,
They know a little about everything;
They cook and bake and know how to fish,
And with all that, they can even sing.
Mothers live their lives for their child,
Even though they may be grown;
They look upon that loving adult,
And know good seeds they have sown.
But every good mother knows in her heart,
That she never worked alone;
God was there to guide her along,
And her faith, the Spirit has grown.
So give thanks for the mother you have,
Praise God for the gift He gave you;
Live your life as God desires,
In that way, you give Mother her due.
