So many have died,
So we can be free;
They will never be forgotten,
By Americans like me.
They braved the wet and cold,
Or maybe the hot and dry;
But they gave all they could give,
And never asked why.
Some of our loved ones
Lived to return to their fort;
But there are so many,
Whose lives were cut short.
We want to thank them all,
No matter the branch of service;
For standing up for our country,
Ignoring their fear, advancing though nervous.
You will never be forgotten,
That is our promise to you;
We will forever remember
You fought for the red, white and blue.
