REMINDER
As I stand looking at the cross,
Tears flood into my eyes;
I contemplate my many sins,
Sins that caused Him to die.
A crown of thorns upon His brow,
Reminds me that He is a king;
The blood trickling down His face,
Should make my eyes and soul sting.
"Forgive them Father" I hear Him cry,
How can He possibly love me?
His mercy and grace beyond understanding,
Shower me with love, set me free.
Jesus Christ, He is my Savior,
He died an ugly death on a tree;
But He doesn't hold His pain against me,
In fact, He has set me free.
I will always love the Son of God,
Because He lives, I go on;
And someday when my life is done,
Together we will watch the dawn.
The cross is a reminder to me,
That, yes, He did die;
But three days later He arose,
And glory filled His life.
