What a Shame

What a shame when you live in fear;
The joys of life you shall not hear;
The touch of love you shall not feel,
Till mind and heart begin to heal.

The nights become lonely and long,
When someone has done you horribly wrong;
But open your heart and take the chance;
And feel again love's new dance.

Get rid of the shadows, the darkness you're in,
And let a new spark of life begin;
Someone is waiting out there for you;
Been there, done that, lived in fear, too.
