Sisters
by Sandra S. Oidtman

We'll always be sisters
As we travel life's road;
You will be there for me,
I'll help carry your load.

Life has dealt you much pain,
Hurt has pierced my heart;
But God gave us each other,
We've been sisters from the start.

We've shared many secrets,
We've shared a lot of joy;
We've shared hopes and dreams,
To each other we are loyal.

We are so different,
In our likes and dislikes;
You loved your teddy bear,
I loved my bikes.

You are compassionate and caring,
While I love to make things;
But we share a common bond,
Lord, God is our king.

The world may bear us up,
Or it may beat us down;
But always in my eyes,
You'll be wearing a crown.

God has been good to us,
He fills our hearts with joy;
But I hate to think what we'd have missed,
If you had been a boy.
