Slow Spring
This spring sure is different,
With freezing temps and snow;
Sometimes I think my Lord,
Forgot His paints to show.
It's still so brown and drab,
The sun just doesn't shine;
It's hard to believe it's April,
Makes us want to whine.
I know within my heart,
God knows exactly what to do;
So He is making us wait,
We will know appreciation grew.
The sun will come out again,
It will shine in the sky so bright;
The trees will dress in green,
Then all will seem it's right.
The flowers will show their colors,
Of red, yellow, pink and blue;
They will prove to us,
That our God is always true.
But until that time comes,
I will trust the Lord of joy;
He will renew my spirit,
And love each girl and boy.
