When you have a child with special needs,
Life is constantly filled with ups and downs;
One minute they make you laugh,
And the next you wear a frown.

Life is filled with great frustrations,
And you cry many, many tears;
But, oh, the things they can teach you,
As you grow with them through the years.

They will teach you great patience,
And what kindness really means;
They will teach you endurance,
When pain never ends it seems.

They will teach you about love,
The unconditional kind;
They will teach you about God,
And a faith you will have to find.

God, bless these special children,
Keep them forever in Your arms;
Help them travel this broken world,
And keep them from all harm.
