Taste of Spring

This is a special weekend,
We got a taste of spring;
Winter is not gone,
But this makes us want to sing.

Winter will return,
With cold, snow and ice;
But these few days,
Have been so very nice.

Spring is still a long way off,
But hope says it will appear;
I believe my mighty God,
Will soon bring color near.

Winter tends to make us blue,
Often we are sad;
But our almighty God,
Provides good from the bad.

I am anxious for the spring,
For the color and the sun;
I want to see the flowers,
And have the cold be done.

It will come about,
In God's will and time;
Then I will sit on the porch,
And enjoy peace sublime.
