As I lie before a warm fire,
Dozing in its glow;
I dream of days gone by,
I dream of days in the snow.
Sleigh rides across wool covered
fields,
Made cheeks cherry red;
The cold nipped at exposed noses,
But we didn't rush home to bed.
Chores often had to be done,
Chickens were fed and cows were milked;
We rolled up snow into balls,
Out of this fun we couldn't be bilked.
As the snow floated from the
sky,
A snowman grew to new heights;
He always had a cheery face,
And kept guard through the nights.
With all the snow and ice,
And temperatures so very cold;
Ice skating was a favorite,
From the young to very old.
Now I am cozy and warm,
As I lie before the fire;
Winter dreaming as I sleep,
Brings up past desires.
