PWL House Show Results - January 31, 2000.
FROM THE PWL PLINKO HALL IN ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI.
- The show began with J.J. STERNBUTT, FAT ALBERT, and THE
NEW ORDER in the ring, braying that they have found a
mysterious masked foe to destroy THE TERROR once and for
all. They introduce said foe, who comes to the ring, yet
says nothing. Terror and his friends watch from the
dressing room, laughing at and mocking the in-ring action.
- The first match of the evening sees Women's World
champion DARK ANGEL successfully defend her title,
pinning ALICE THE GOON in 3:27 following a running
powerbomb. After the bout, Angel brawled with URSA back
to the dressing room.
- In the next bout, long-reigning Midgets' World champion
CAP'N CRUNCH continued his PWL domination, making
NONAGONCITO submit to a Crunchface tap-out hold in 4:19.
After the match, Crunch was met in the entranceway by The
Terror, who wanted to talk in the dressing room.
- In a continuation of their feud, HUMAN TORNADO gained the
upper hand on SETH, pinning him following a pile driver
through a table. Time of this contest was 5:55.
- THE FABULOUS HORNER BROTHERS retained possesion of the
North American tag titles, as they upended HAARLEM HEAT
in 6:22 when Butch Horner pinned Larry Franklin. After
the match, Haarlem Heat became agitated, vowing that they
would never appear in the PWL again.
- In a shockingly quick match, THE PILLARS OF PAIN defeated
GENERAL ZOD and NON in 47 seconds. Zod and Non were busy
shouting at ring announcer GUY SMILEY when Golem and
Quartz attacked. Quartz pinned Non to finish the matchup.
After this, The Terror, Dark Angel, and Cap'n Crunch hit
the ring and celebrated with POP. The crowd, finally
getting tired of cheering The Terror, turned on the group,
booing and jeering loudly.
- In their tag team debut, BILLY JO JIVE and RUFUS VAN PELT
(the former Russell of Fat Albert's group) defeated BIG
HEAD GUY and FAT DUDE by pinfall in 2:54. RVP ended the
bout by pinning Fat Dude. BJJ and RVP were, of course,
accompanied by "Sweet" SUSIE SUNSET.
- In a Three-Way Dance for the North American heavyweight
championship, COOLEROY once again came out on top, this
time against SKELETOR and M. KLEATS. This match, which
received a standing ovation from the hardcore fans in
attendance, lasted 13:22, ending as Cooleroy pinned
Skeletor following a belly-to-back superplex.
- The World tag team title match was a bloody mess, as
champions NC-17 and challengers THE SEXECUTIONERS brawled
throughout the Plinko Hall. Chairs, tables, the bell, and
even the barbed wire, which the PWL had backstage for
unknown reasons, were put to use in this match. The
champeens held on to the straps, as Dirk Mercury got the
pin on Buck Naked in 11:29.
- As it came time for the main event, both Sternbutt's
group and Terror's group were in the ring. terror shouted
at the audience to shut up, as they were supposed to be
cheering him, but instead now viewed Sternbutt's side as
the faces. The match between World heavyweight champion
THE TERROR and STERNBUTT'S MASKED MAN began. Terror made
quick work of his unidentified opponent, putting on The
Terror Spike, then the pin, in a match lasting only 2:14.
Terror quickly unmasked the opponent, revealing him to be
HOWLING MANSLAYER, star of the old ECW organization. All
The President's Men entered the ring, attacking Terror to
the crowd's roaring approval. Unfortunately, though,
Terror, Dark Angel, Pillars of Pain, and Cap'n Crunch
gained the upper hand, beating up Fat Albert, Ursa, Zod
and Non, and Sternbutt, respectively. As the assault
continued, however, the lights went out in the PWL Plinko
Hall...
- When the lights came back on, in the ring stood GENE WEST.
The fans popped big-time, but so did Terror, as he was
briefly, and happily, managed by the former "Imp."
Terror invited West to join in the fun, but West
continued to stand in the ring, silently, with a wicked
grin on his face. The Terror sensed something was
happening, and as he went to confornt Gene West... yep,
the lights went out again. And when they came back on
this time, only two words need be said...
THE TRAIN
- THE TRAIN is back in the PWL!!! As Gene West looked on,
THE TRAIN single-handedly destroyed Terror, The Pillars
of Pain, Cap'n Crunch, and Dark Angel. As Sternbutt was
helped up by Ursa, Gene West and THE TRAIN stood in the
ring, receiving the largest pop ever given by the fans at
The Plinko Hall. One by one, Fat Albert, Zod, Non, Ursa,
and J.J. Sternbutt himself shook the hands of Gene West
and THE TRAIN, and the show ended with all seven in the
ring, with the entire building rocking with chants of
"Train, Train, Train."
This was easily the biggest night in the PWL in 2000, perhaps
the biggest night in quite some time. More will follow on the
return of THE TRAIN on PWL ONLINE.
