PWL News and Information for March 7, 1999.

THE NEW ORDER has shrunk by two-thirds. On Saturday, March 6, it
was announced that former North American champion GENERAL ZOD and teammate
NON agreed to contract buy-outs and have left the PWL. Sources say
that Women's champion URSA was also approached about a contract buyout,
but had not agreed to one as of this writing. Zod and Non were increasingly
unhappy with their roles in the PWL, with tensions flaring a few weeks
ago following their losses in squash matches against PLAGUE and THE TERROR,
respectively.

With GRIMACE's recent heel turn, talk around the locker room is that he
is looking to form a supergroup of his own, copying success stories such
as the FAT ALBERT GANG, THE PIT, and the TRIPLE THREAT. Grimace told
us, "All I will say concerning that is this: This Purple Menace is not
the only one new and improved in the PWL. I have friends in this
business, and in that other business as well. You know what I'm talking
about, son. Also, I would like to thank Mr. Terror for the beating
he gave me. Yes, I thank you, Terror. He has shown me the way
to success and glory is to do your own thing. The promoters, the
fans, they held me back all these years. What titles have I held
in the PWL? Not a damn one! Those fans can go to hell for all
I care! And by the way, don't think I've forgotten about those Fry
Boys. If there's one thing I hate more than the fans, it's those
pathetic midgets. When my group takes shape, I will see to it that
the midgets' division here is finished once and for all!" But how
do you really feel, Grimace?

The date has been set: Sunday, April 4. Live from St. Louis, it's
WRESTLERAMA 13! This mammoth show is sure to knock over the wrestling
world as we know it. All the PWL championships will be on the line,
and the PWL is in negotiations as we speak to bring in a title match or
two from other wrestling outfits. The matches will be announced in
the week following the March 14 PWL show.

Rumors persist that the PWL's top dog, PLAGUE, may be forced to give up
one of his heavyweight championships. As he is not legally bound
to do so, PWL officials have mulled the idea of reviving championships
of days gone by. Specifically, the United States and Intercontinental
heavyweight championships. These two titles were de-activated when
U.S. champion THE CHAMP pinned I-C champ THE GORILLA to become the first
North American champion back in 1988. Longtime fans of the PWL remember
the old belts fondly, and the feuds that accompanied them. Many fans
e-mail the PWL remembering the classic Champ-AMERICAN BOY feud for the
U.S. title back in 1987. That led to AB capturing the title, and
eventually caused The Champ to turn face, breaking away from the devious
manager THE IMP. Of course, newer fans know Imp by his real identity,
current PWL President GENE WEST.

As long as we're discussing the days gone by, there is talk that many of
the top stars of the PWL's glory days of the 80s will make guest appearances
at WR13. As we like to say, more on that when we get the information.

A big name of the present, FAT ALBERT, has been brought up from time to
time. When contacted by the PWL, Albert told us, "Hey hey hey!
The vacation's been great for Fat Albert, but the itch to return is gettin'
stronger. Folks wanna know, will I be face or heel? That's
not up to Fat Albert, all I know is, the dude with the gold, that guy PLAGUE,
he's big and tough, but he ain't been champ near as long as I was.
If he still has the belt around WrestleRama, let's see if he's got the
guts to take me on. He couldn't even beat Terror without his rip-offs,
STRIKE FORCE, I bet. Hey hey hey, Triple Threat, you'll get squashed
by the Fat One some day!" When asked about The Terror: "That
boy is tough, he is mean, he is downright evil. But don't forget,
I was heel before heel was cool. As far as I'm concerned, he wouldn't
be nowhere near as successful in the PWL if I hadn't his damn way, brother.
Terror, I hear you may get a shot at the World title, dude. How 'bout
this: if you get the belt, I'll be right there to shake your hand.
Then, you give me the belt, and walk the hell out of the PWL. You
think you're a bigshot? Well, I give you credit, your imitation of
me is second to none. But hen I return, though, the PWL will flock
around the originator, not the imitator. Triple Threat, Pit, none
of you are worthy of wiping my Fat Ass, so when I come back, don't even
think you can put me away, Hey hey hey!"
