PWL News and Information for May 27, 1999.
Here we are, just ten days away from another huge event for the PWL, the
Wrestling Goodwill Festival. Here are the PWL's contributions to
that show:
-
World heavyweight champion PLAGUE defends in a rematch against THE TERROR;
-
North American heavyweight champion FAT ALBERT makes his first defense
against PWL legend JOE THE GIANT;
-
World tag team champions THE PILLARS OF PAIN take on former champs STRIKE
FORCE;
-
Cruiserweight champion STARSHINE HIPPIE meets the challenge of VENOM;
-
Two-time Women's champion DARK ANGEL continues her feud with a title defense
against former queenpin ELIZA BLADE;
-
Midgets' champion MASCARITA DIABLO now will defend his belt in a Three-Way
Dance against CAP'N CRUNCH and ORKO.
In other PWL news:
-
Orko's sidekick, SKELETOR, is fully healed from his injuries and will begin
wrestling after the WGF.
-
New to the PWL this past week is Haddonfield, Illinois, native BEN TRAYMOR.
-
Despite the rumors on the Internet, the Scooby-Doo gang has not been in
negotiations with the PWL, and are not expected to return to the organization
anytime soon.
-
The PWL is, however, is continuing talks with a former PWL tag team, and
if all goes well, this duo will return following the WGF.
-
One rumor proven true is that the PWL has been in close talks with Saturday
morning legend SCHOOLHOUSE ROCKY about possible appearances in the organization.
Though talks hit a snag this past weekend, all sides are confident a deal
can be reached sometime soon.
-
Longtime PWL announcer KERMIT THE FROG recently returned following his
suspension due to undisclosed reasons. Upon returning, Kermit lashed
out at his fellow announcers, MONTY SWELL and GUY SMILEY, and has promised
revenge against unnamed targets, for reasons not made entirely clear as
of this writing.
That's all for now, everybody. Keep on stopping by PWL Online, and
thanks for continually supporting the PWL.
