PWL News and Information - November 19, 1999.
With just one week to go before the THUNDERCAT MEMORIAL SHOW, we have some
major breaking news:
-
PWL World heavyweight champion RONALD McDONALD is leaving the PWL.
He made his decision official on Thursday, November 18, in a press conference
at the PWL Offices in St. Louis. Strong rumors abounded after McDonald's
"Y2K" plans were revealed on a recent episode of Late Show with David
Letterman. According to McDonald, he plans on fulfilling his
agreement to wrestle at the TMS, at which his World title defense against
FAT ALBERT will be his finale with the company. PWL President GENE
WEST commented, "Ronald McDonald has conducted himself admirably in his
most recent run with the PWL. We are very sorry to see him leave
the organization, and should he wish to return, we would welcome him back
wholeheartedly." There is no word on whether his McDonaldland friends
GRIMACE, HAMBURGLAR, and THE FRY GUYS, who are still under PWL contract,
will be released when their leader departs.
-
FAT ALBERT does not expect an easy win at TMS. After hearing of the
champ's decision, Albert told us, "Hey, the brother's doing what he's gotta
do. It may be his last fight, but he ain't going out easily.
The dude damn sure wants to leave as a champion, I know I would, so he's
gonna pull out all the stops next week. I'm still gonna whip his
face-painted ass all 'round the ring. I'm not gonna do no job today,
hey hey hey. Let's just say my win is in the books."
-
New performers recently signed by the PWL are the jobber tag teams WINNIG
and HENDHAM, as well as MANSNOW and ALKIND.
-
Look for the PWL's television programming to be revamped in the coming
weeks, perhaps with the addition of a live weekly show on cable or broadcast
television.
That's all for this abbreviated news column for November 19. Enjoy
TMS and thanks for checking us out at PWL ONLINE.
