The PWL returns to Friday night action tomorrow in Du Quoin,
Illinois, as the war between THE TERROR and the PWL escalates. In
a six-man tag team main event, The Terror and THE PILLARS OF PAIN
take on the newly-faced FAT ALBERT, GENERAL ZOD, and NON. Other
highlights of the show:
- COOLEROY defends the North American championship against
SKELETOR, winner of this past Monday's battle royale;
- In a rematch for the World tag team championship, NC-17
defend against THE SEXECUTIONERS;
- In a three-way match for the North American tag titles,
champions THE FABULOUS HORNER BROTHERS take on THE
PIGGIES and RUFUS VAN PELT and BILLY JO JIVE;
- World cruiserweight champion STARSHINE HIPPIE defends his
belt against ULTIMO PUERCO;
- DARK ANGEL puts the Women's World title on the line
against newcomer THUMBELINA (with manager AUNT RHODY);
- Midgets' World champion CAP'N CRUNCH will put the strap
up for grabs against a mystery opponent;
- BIG SID SMITH "The Neighborhood Bully" will
make his PWL debut;
- look for GENE WEST and THE TRAIN to make their presences
known;
- and rumor has it that JOE THE GIANT will be on hand in Du
Quoin as well.
WRESTLERAMA 14 is less than two months away. The biggest of
all wrestling events will take place Sunday, April 2 in St. Louis.
Fans are already clamoring for a World title main event between
The Terror and The Train. Even though Train has not wrestled in
the PWL in quite some time, signs point to him accepting this
matchup if offered. The Train is, of course, no stranger to the
World championship, being the only man to hold the title in the
1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. Will the 2000s be any different, or does
The Terror have what it takes to withstand the force of the tough
veteran? The bout is not official, but look for an announcement
on this to be made soon.
In PWL newsbites:
- Look for J.J. STERNBUTT's policy of mystery opponents to
continue. It is unclear whether the PWL President expects
these men to win the World title from The Terror (as past
mystery opponents have jobbed in short order against the
champ), or if Sternbutt merely wants to throw Terror off
guard for something big down the road (WR14, perhaps?).
- For the time being, the PWL will hold two house shows per
week (Monday and Friday nights), in addition to our TV
tapings for Bigtime Wrestling, Real Pro
Wrestling, Major League Wrestling, and Lucha
Bombastica. In addition, if you're wondering why we
don't post TV results anymore, it is because these bouts
usually have no impact on the angles running at the time.
If something does happen on the TV shows, we'll be sure
to tell you. Also, that's more incentive for you to watch
the shows yourself to see what's happening in the PWL.
That's what's happening now. Thanks for stopping by PWL ONLINE!
