THE PWL RETURNS IN TWELVE DAYS!
That's right, the PWL will kick off our next tour Monday, August 28 in Kansas City, Missouri for a BIGTIME WRESTLING show. Then, we'll tour the United States and Canada until we re-open Browns Grounds in St. Louis on Sunday, October 22 for our next big event, the Second Annual PUKE CUP TOURNAMENT. Additional cards and dates should be posted shortly.
YES! THE PUKE CUP IS BACK!
That's right, one of the most memorable and infamous artifacts in history will be remembered once again in wrestling form this October 22. One day before the fifteenth anniversary of the original Puke Cup's tragic end, the PWL will celebrate its memory by staging not one, but TWO wrestling tournaments. An eight-team tag tournament (much like last year) will be accompanied by a sixteen-man singles tournament. In addition, a World heavyweight title defense is scheduled, as well as Midgets' and Women's championship matches. Simultaneously mourn the original Puke Cup's demise and celebrate the return of the PWL to Browns Grounds! You know you can hardly wait.
WHAT ABOUT THE PWL CHAMPIONSHIPS?
If you think the PWL titleholders have been sitting around these past few weeks, you are happily mistaken. All of the champions, led by World heavyweight champion THE TERROR, have been touring our affiliated wrestling organizations, Louisiana Wrestling and the Southwestern Wrestling League. We will, of course, keep you informed should any PWL championships change hands between now and August 28.
BIG STEWIE'S NEW RECRUITS
Head Trainer BIG STEWIE tells us that his latest crop of wrestling wanna-bes are ready for action, though mostly in jobber roles. Make sure to keep one eye open for another wrestling family, THE STEMMLERS, as well as another competitor known as TIMOUTHEY. This one is apparently a mat technician, as Stewie says, "I expect him to remain squarely on the mat in most, if not all, of his bouts."
PWL NEWSBITES...
WEIRD HAROLD is unhappy with his new role as BODY, a wrestler in MONDO MBAMBA'S Black Widow Party stable. Expect WH with another look and gimmick when the next tour kicks off.
NC-17 have officially broken up. TRIPLE X has signed on with Ollie Dunkerfunk in Louisiana, while DIRK MERCURY stays up north, intending to make a showing in the heavyweight ranks.
For a quick recap, here are the intended big-time feuds for the next PWL tour: Terror vs. Cooleroy for the World title, Schoolhouse Rocky vs. Fat Albert for the NA title, Pillars of Pain vs. New Order. Also, look for Starshine Hippie, Super Heavy, and M. Kleats to meddle in the heavyweight title hunts. Rufus Van Pelt and Billy Jo Jive should have their hands ful defending the North American tag straps against the likes of AA, Long Sweet Lips, and The Sexecutioners. Not only will the individuals and teams be fighting for championships, they will also jockey for position in the singles' and tag team versions of the Puke Cup Tournaments.
