If you incounter Error 52 try killing the killing the monsters near the Mad Monk's Tomb with rocks. Here are all the workarounds mentioned in the latest QFG collection README file and a few others: Problem: "Error 52: A script is being disposed and there is a cloned object that is still using a class in it". Happens in the swamp while fighting the Chernovy. Basically, this error is caused by your system running to fast for the game. QG 4 was written before today's faster computers existed. It was programmed on slower systems. There are areas in the game that have timers in the programming and require scripts to be played out at certain speeds. These areas of the game have trouble on fast systems and generate this error 52. Solution (DOS): Exit the game. From the Quest for Glory 4 directory on your hard drive, run INSTALL and choose IBM PC INTERNAL SPEAKER for MUSIC and NO AUDIO for SPEECH. Save these choices, restart the game, and restore a game before the swamp. From the swamp, go left three screens, then down two screens. Kill the monsters and get out as fast as you can. If this doesn't work, restore a game saved earlier and try again. If it still doesn't work, delete the MS-DOS version, install the Windows version, and play the game in Windows. Be aware that if you want to play the Windows version, you'll have the start the game over from the beginning, since the saved games are not compatible between DOS and Windows. Error 52 can also occur in the Windows versions, but there have been reports that one work around is to get to the edge of the swamp, save game, then start as many other programs as your computer can handle. This can often slow down your computer enough to get you by. Another solution: If you have the DOS version of the game installed, copy Mo'slo onto the root directory of your C: drive. Then, Shutdown the Computer and Restart in MS-DOS Mode. Type in "CD\" and press ENTER. Then type "MOSLO /30 C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM" and press ENTER. Please note, however, that on some systems you may not be able to use Mo'slo this way. Copy Mo'slo onto the root directory of your C: drive. If error 52 happens again, lower it to 50%. 1.Go create a new character or import one. 2.Add everything to acrobatics. 3.Cancel. 4.Go back and the acrobatics will be +100 with another 100 points. For money: Take money in the tree stump outside of the towngates and in a lamp at Erana's garden. For daggers: Go to the thieves' guild, take the daggers in the drawer where you got them first. In Quest for Glory IV you have the option to save your character and import him back into Quest for Glory IV time after time.
Let me start out with a few words of advisement,talk to everyone just like in all the games it gives the plot valuable information,in other words it's what makes most of the game valuable.I will try to put the hints into days and everything that each group needs to do.O.k so you start out in the bone cave in what was a very weird experience and a very dizzy feeling in the darkest place ever on... Day 1-26 You should start by searching all the skeletons in the cavern,take a torch and use flint on the torch to light it.Exit through the door at the north end of the screen.A fighter/paladin should take the sword and shield,a thief should look for a thief mark on one of the rocks,a wizard should take the cloth.Leave south.Now a fighter/paladin should cross hand over hand over the pit,a thief should walk the tightrope across and a wizard should use the colth and then cast a levitate spell,then go left.After meeting katrina take the dark one's sign from the arch.Now leave left and slide down the path and head through the forest toward the town(use general map).When you get to the town gate take some corn and search the stump.Go inside town and pick some flowers andgo left and speak to the burgomeister.Then go to the inn and speak to the innkeeper and townspeople,leave and go to the general store,purchase some rations,and some oil and a bag(if thief)broom(if paladin)and some candy and garlic,now leave and go right and talk to the old man and then knock on door and repeat the pattern to enter(each time you enter),in the hallway open the right door and then use the machine until you identify an antwerp and then use it again until you identify a hexapod and answer no to its question and then bait the trap with avocado,now set speed to low on control panel and open left door and maneuver the antwerp through the maze to get the key and get out the opening.now try to open the north door and arrange the puzzle till it makes a keyhole.Then unlock it and talk to dr. cranium and ask about magic if you're a wizard and then ask about science and healing and poison cure potions and use your copywrite book that came with the game for the codes and after that ask him for about 5 empty flasks,leave and head north and talk to gravedigger,then enter adventurers' guild,now look at books and read them,sign log book and read it,practice on stairstepper.Now a fighter/paladin/thief should pick up the rope and grapnel,throw grapnel on hook and practice and take the rope whn you finish.A fighter/paladin should when having sufficnt strength should break open the emergency case,a thief should look under table and then look at the hooks to enter the guild here's the puzzle-click on third skull until it's pointing up and then move the second hook until it's pointing down,now move the fourth hook until it's facing right and then the fist hook until it's facing left,climb the bookshelf and enter.In the thieves' guild search the grate on the floor and you'll find a knob,take the guild card off the poster and use it to open the closed doors and read the books inside,thenuse the knob on the safe and spell out the word filch,now go over to the desk and disarm trap and pick the lock,after that read the book now check out the paintings on the back wall and uncover them,disarm the traps and crack the safes and after yo rifle them tap the barrel and solve the puzzle by using these colors in each row-top row:blue blue yellow,middle row:green green green,bottom row:red green red,talk to the chief thief,you'll turn him back to human later by getting the sttue in the monastary.Now go to castle gates and talk to boris about everything,go back to olga and tell her about boris,after that continue to alternate between them,telling about each other until boris agrees to go back an visit olga.Now go to the lake and give flowers to rusulka and ask her about everything.now go back to the path you slid down before and fil three of your flasks ith grue goo and then as a thief/paladin/fighter-throw rocks at rock pile until bonsai bush is freed,if you're a wizard cast bolt spells until it breaks and then a fetch spell.Now go and talk to the leshy and answer it's riddles until it talks about a bush in a fix and tell him about the bush in goo and then go plant it in erana's garden and come back and answer more riddles until he gets to baba yaga and leave.NOTE:At night you can sleep at inn and hear voices an get notes from katrina which you should first meet on night three at the town gate,or you can sleep at the staff and erana's garden and have a dream about the dark one and erana.Back to it then, so now visit the gypsy camp and then leave when they tell you.Now what you do is wait till night and kill as many wraiths as you can other than the heart wraith and go to the swamp,now i did this on the first day but you can do it any day you want.The fighter needs to walk through the swamp until you get to the chernovy grave,get up on a mound and fight the chernovy,as a wizard cast glide until you get there and cast reversal and when they make it dark cast the juggling lights spell,then fight them,as a thief use acrobatics to get there and then fight them.Once they are defeated use the dark one sign on the grave and just go in order of the first symbol to the last by clicking on them and once you have the ritual go back the way you came.You can also do this whenever but i also did this the first night,put candy on ground where willow o'wisps are and then put them in an empty jar and take them to the big obolisk where you got the bonsai and use the willows on it then use the dark one sign on it and spell out the name avoozl.After you finish set the willows free.After that find a ghost wandering in one area and talk to her and then ask about ghosts,leave,come back and talk to her again and keep leaving and coming back until you can tell her she's a ghost,after that ask her her name and leave.Now go back to the inn and talk to the innkeeper and townspeople and then stay up till midnight and meet and talk to the domovoi an then sleep till morning.The next day go see the old man and tell him about anna and then go see dr cranium and ask him about everything,NOTE:you need to practice on the stairstepper everyday till you can't and this will gain you fifty strength points and climbing points.Eventually someday probably after you meet the domovoi at midnight for the second time,the doc. will tell you about a rehydration soloution,look in your list for the code and then give him some grue goo.Now you should go to the monastary and if your a thief use grapnel in window,if anything else use dark one sign on door.Thief-get blackbird, paladin/wizard/fighter/thief-use rehydration solution on dried domovoi and see the other one in the inn that night.Feed the hexopod garlic and grab the handle on the right.Thief-use cloth bag to grab statue(small)and disarm trap,wizard-cast trigger and search desk,paladin/fighter-bash open desk and take poison cure and search desk.Then tap the wine cask.Now leave and set fire to rug with torch.On night three after you meet katrina try to see the gnomes act at early evening,the next morning knock on his oor at the inn it's the one with the joy buzzer and take his chicken and then talk to him,now you can answerleshys riddle about baba yaga.Some night after you told old man about anna go to where you saw the ghost in the forest and watch them unite,leave,come back and talk to them both and then ask for nickolai's hat and say goodbye.Now you should go to leshey and answer his riddle and then go to the bush area on the map and say the magic phrase and enter,talk to bonehead and give him the hat.If you have any wraith bones grind them in the mortar and put it in empty jar,give the hut corn and enter.tell her about knome and ask about kids,now time to get a pie,you should have bought a pie pan from the general store and you have the bone meal and grue goo,all you need now are the berries,go to the bush area on the map and throw rock at bush or cast bolt and then lay chicken on ground,maneuver around the bush and pick up the berries.now take and put all those ingredients into the pie pan and use one of the fry guys to cook it.Now give pie to baba baby and ask for gnomes humor.come back after that and give her garlic and if you're a wizard ask for a spell and if not ask her for a dark one ritual and the wizard can get it with leaving and coming back and giving her more garlic.Now go and give bar to gnome and see his act that night.I must tell you that you should try to meet katrina all the nights she tells you for the plot of the game.Sometime in the game the gravedigger will get caught in a grave and a gypsy will be blamed,it is your duty to stop this.now as a thief you get points for sneaking into the hotl through the winow or out,so set the gypsy free and then find the gravedigger,he's in the cemetary,if you're anyhting else just go to the cemetary and open that grave.A paladin/fighter should just lift it up,a wizard should cast open,a thief should climb the tree and put the grapnel on it and then use it to lift up the grave.Soon after you can ask the grave digger for the borgov crypt and the gypsies will soon let ou into their camp.Unlock the crypt and go in solve the crest puzzle on the floor by spellin out the name borgov in colors.Now leave for now by shaking hands with death.When you do go to the gypsies camp you'll recieve an amulet or a aura spell if you have magic.Paladins should ask about curing the rusulka and do exactly that once you leave their camp,you should also get your fortune read everyday you can.Now that you have th amulet or spell you can take on the heart wraith an raid his hoard or the heart ritual,if you're aiwzard you'll have to wait till after you get the staff in town to get the heart ritual,more on that later.At night a wizard will encounter a fountain south of erana's garden,drink from it and you'll have an experience.A thief should also break into the old man's house whenever and steal everything you can to get points.A wizard can also get a spell by casting trigger on the water in erana's garden and then open and fetch.Now you should be ready to enter the castle so enter the crypt and unlock the tomb that looks like a door.Explore the castle as much as you can and kill every monster there,a thief should wait till night and sneak an oil the door that leads to the main hall and listen to ad avis and katrina and all chracters should go to tanya's room and talk to her.Y ou should have gotten a doll from the domovoi meeting,so give it to her and then talk to her and tell her about the staff,after a long drawn out sequence you'll end up in the inn the next morning with erana's staff.A wizard shoul go back to the same fountain place andreach for the staff when you see it,listen to the fairies,leave,come back.Now cast reversal and summon staff,use staff to cast resistnce and frostbite at fairies,fight until they give up and you'll recieve a heart ritual.Now do what you want until day 23 except sleep in the inn and then sleep in the inn and meet katrina at castle gates lik note said to-SURPRISE!!!(bum,bum,bum,dramtic reverb)it's ad avis who tricked you,when he summons the hounds of death run from them if you can,but it dos no good.When you end up in the dungeon and wake up from spell-fighter/paladin-break chains,thief-pick lock,wizard-cast open.Open the iron maidon and you'll enter katrina's bedroom,open the coffin and kiss her,when she freezes you and threatens to kill you tell about ad avis and explain your intentions.She will geas you and since you should already have the rituals go through the front gate of the castle and you all will be transported to the cave.Start by killing,calming,or sneaking by the monster and taking the book,then cross the rope and enter the first sphincter.The first ritual is bone,use torch on sconce and light other torch,use dark one sign on the alter,then use ritual on alter.when cage starts to appear after ritual if you're athief use acrobatics to get out of way,if a wizard cast frostbite,flame,and then bolt on the cage,if a paladin/fighter break the cage open.take your torch and leave.The next ritual is blood so enter the pulsataing sphincter and use ritual on altar,after words fighters/paladins should go to top of altar use rope and grapnel to climb to the ledge that overhangs altar,push rock in altar bowl and return along path,it doesn't mater really ow you get to the main path as long as you don't touch the blood,as long as you get out of the sphincter.Now the next ritual is breath,use the ritual on the altar and then blow on the right lower horn and then the lowre left horn and then the lower center horn nd then the upper center horn and try to leave-fighter/paladins should grab the tentacle on your right when your being sucked in,thiefs should climb up and out of the way of the breath,wizards should cast calm and open when you are in the lung.Then leave and go to the next sphincter,here you've lost all your senses so just keep walking left and upwards and then right and whn you see use the ritual on the altar.Thieves should use grapnel on the horseshoe looking thing and swing over to center,fighters/paladins should run past all th dendrites,and wizards should cast lightning at dndrites to short them out and then leave.Now her is the heart cave so use the ritual on it,after the ritual a thief/fighter/paladin should climb up the altar and a magic user should cast levitate.This is the final cave after the sequence and you have control,fighter/paladin/thief-get staff out of your inventory,all should tell joke that you got from punny ,when ad avis is laughing fighter/paladins should use staff on ad avis,thieves should throw dagger at him,wizards should cast force bolt at ad avis and then cast summon staff again,after ad avis is finally dead use the staff on the crystal in the center of the cave to free erana.Congratulations!You have saved the town of mordavia and the world,you are a hero once more.
