Purpose
The Upsilon Omega Housing Management Policy Committee
is responsible for setting policies for the acquisition, operation, maintenance and upkeep of
Chapter housing facilities. Housing for the Chapter is owned and managed by the Upsilon Omega Foundation. The housing committee reports to the Upsilon Omega Foundation's Board of Directors. The
officers of the Upsilon Omega Foundation constitute the board of directors of the Foundation. The President of
the Upsilon Omega Foundation serves as Chairman of the Board and of the General
Assembly of members during membership meetings. The Omega Center Manager is responsible for the actual operation, maintenance and upkeep of
the Center. The Omega Center provides meeting facilities for the Chapter and its
affiliated organizations as well as for members of the Chapter and their
invited guests. Anyone wishing to make use of the housing facilities must
comply with the Rules
& Regulations of the
Foundation. Arrangements for reservation of the Center must be made
through the Center Manager.

Rules and Regulations
Governing
the Use of the Omega Center

The following revised rules and regulations
have been established by the Upsilon Omega Foundation in order to
govern the use of the Upsilon Omega Chapter Center.
- Eligibility for Membership
- Members of the Foundation must be financial
members of the Upsilon Omega Chapter of the Omega Psi
Phi Fraternity.
- A member in good standing is defined as a
brother who has paid all dues and assessments to the Upsilon Omega
Chapter.
- Responsibilities of Membership
- All members must follow the rules and
regulations regarding utilities and use of the Fraternity Center as stated
in these regulations or as posted in the Center and adopted by the Board
of Directors.
- A member may not transfer his keys/cards to
any un-financial brother.
- Center Use Priorities
- The Upsilon Omega Chapter will hold its
monthly meetings every second Friday of the month. No other activities
are to be scheduled on the second Friday.
- The Foundation will meet every
first Friday of the month. No other activities are to be scheduled for
the first Friday in conflict with the Foundation meeting.
Other meetings may be scheduled as directed by the Board of Directors.
- Wednesday nights are set aside for brothers
to gather and fraternize.
- Use of Facilities.
- Unreserved Use.
- Each financial member
of the Chapter/Foundation shall be given a key to the Omega Center; and,
except as otherwise provided, may freely visit or use the Center on an
unreserved and unrestricted basis, at any and all times. When the Center
or a floor or space therein has been reserved for private use, the
member shall continue to have free access to the Center, but shall not
interfere with the private use of the Center.
- In using or
visiting the Center on an unreserved basis, a member may be accompanied
by or receive one or more or even a group of guests; and may make social
use of the Center with his guests or visitors during such unreserved use
or visits. However, no unreserved social use of the Center by a member
and his invited guests may be restrictive; i.e., the member may not
exclude other members and their invited guests from joint unrestricted
and unreserved social use of the premises during unreserved visits.
- Guests may be brought to the Center only by
fully financial members. Members who invite guests must be present to receive
them when they arrive. Members are responsible for their guests and
their actions. Refreshments. etc. are the
responsibility of the member.
- Reserved Use.
- Fully financial members may secure the use
of the Center on a once a year basis for the purpose of a private party
without the payment of a rental fee. A refundable cleaning fee
will be assessed to secure the date; payable to the Center Manager
or his designee at the time the Center is reserved. The appropriate forms
must be completed and returned two (2) weeks prior to the affair/event.
The deposit will be refunded upon the Center being left clean to
the satisfaction of the Center Manager or his designee.
- Any additional requests for the use of the
Center by a fully financial member must be made through the Housing
Foundation by completing a rental agreement form, listing the type and
purpose of the activity. FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES OF ANY TYPE ARE
CHARGED A RENTAL FEE. A rental fee is required to use the Center. A
refundable cleaning fee will be assessed to secure the date;
payable to the Center Manager or his designee at the time the Center
is reserved. The appropriate forms must be completed and returned two
(2) weeks prior to the affair/event. The deposit will be refunded
upon the Center being left clean to the satisfaction of the Executive
Director or his designee. The balance of the rental fee is to be paid
one (1) week prior to the event. Members renting the Center must have the
Center cleaned by 12:00 noon the following day.
- Requests for the use of the Center for
private meetings. (meetings limited to 2-3
hours in duration) will be assessed refundable fee. Securing
the Center for a series of meetings can only occur from Sunday through
Thursday. Use of the Center for meetings on Friday and Saturday must be
on a month by month basis with the approval of the Center Manager.
- The Quettes may
request use of the Center through the Center Manager. At least one
(1) graduate member should be present during the activity.
- Undergraduate chapters may request use of
the Center through the Center Manager following the same rules listed
for the Quettes, however at least three (3)
graduate members must be present during the activity.
- A calendar will be kept at the Center noting
the dates and times that members have reserved the Center. Only the
Center Manager or his designee has the right to place names, etc. on
the official calendar. Entries by other persons have no validity.
- The Board of Directors reserves the right
to waive the rental fee for approved community activities/events.
- Disciplinary Actions.
- Any brother who does not complete his
financial obligations within two (2) months after the start of the fiscal
year will lose all Center privileges and his key/security card until the
fees are paid.
- Any brother who fails to comply with the
above rules and regulations will forfeit his once a year activity
privilege and his key/security card.
