"FORTY ROUNDS"

The Civil War History of the

29th Missouri

Volunteer Infantry Regiment, USA

By Jared E. Billings

Company Rosters

The Company Rosters contain limited information.  For more information on the soldiers consult the alphabetical list with biographical information.

The information here includes names, alternate spelling of names, rank at enlistment, rank at discharge (some men were promoted and some demoted) and other companies served in.

It is important to note that the companies were never at full strength.  These rosters list soldiers that ever served at any time.  Some soldiers served in more than one company and this is noted.

Before the regiment was one year old it had lost one-half of its numbers to disease, desertion or battle.  By the the time the regiment was one and one-half years old it mustered less than 200 men fit for active duty.
