The Thirst
Your hands grasp my coat in desperation,
Anguished cry of death as I sit unmoved.
Bloodstained ruby lips grin at your pleasure,
The last one you'll ever know from life.
I draw you deep into my world with thirst,
Ivory death flashing in the moonlight.
Hunger...desire...need...desperation,
Your pulsing life burns hot in my throat.
The thirst gnaws at my soul, eating away at the barrier,
The only saving grace I have left.
I feel the Beast stir deep within my breast.
It wants to consume us all.
Your breath fades like the last light of day.
Glowing feral eyes, dispassionate to you,
Watch as the life fades from you.
The Beast revels in its' crimson feast.
Body limp as a rag...pale as moonlight...
Throbbing pulse dulled to a murmur...
My humanity recoils at my deeds.
I push it away from me, unable to cope.
I am what I was made to be...
A creature of the night.
And as always,
Remorse has no saving grace for the Damned.
I am The Thirst...
It defines me...
It sustains me...
It damns me...
