Winter's Embrace
Tonight, no vision of you...
only the bare, leafless trees surrounding me...
the church across the street with the empty bell tower,
where I frequently see you standing,
watching over me from high above...
the silky white snowflakes falling down from the sky, resting against my face...
or were they your fingers caressing my skin?...
the soft winter breeze blowing lightly over my neck...
or perhaps your lips planting gentle kisses on my flesh?
I stood still, my eyes closed, my lips parted...welcoming you.
I felt your arms enveloping me, holding me close...
your body pressed against mine, warming me...
your love bringing winter to life,
sheltering me from the cold that I couldn't even feel.
