LOVERS OF THE DARK

DARKNESS MINE

It was so long ago.

So many lifetimes have gone by,

yet I survive to watch

from the shadows.

I remember day's gone past,

memory's of a journey by which

I have gained the upper hand in

this eternal struggle for dominance.

Yes these mortal's haven't any

idea that I walk among them.

My identity change's century

after century,

so many that after awhile,

it become's blurred to even me.

But not forgotten.

Do you really believe?

Do you really understand?

No I think you do not!

For had you understood the

tale's that run about

thru your mind had you believed,

you would cry out for the angel's

to protect you.

Yes, i have witness'd the movie's

that you mortal's love so much.

I see the false tale's you think true.

Yes, religiouse icon's do repel me,

the holy water does sicken me.

But your fancifull trick's to

kill my kind do not all work!

Beware that you do not encounter me.

Pray that I do not choose you

for my bloodlust to be satisfied

for one night!

I have live'd for many century's,

I have gained much power.

much I have seen,

much I have experienced.

Though I am able to

bring about a transformation

that bare's my sharpen'd fang's.

My pale skin that

I am unable to expose to

the sun that i miss so much.

though I am able to

peer into your mind,

bend even the strongest

of mortal will's to serve me,

take flight about the night wind's.

your human blood

is that which I crave.

The shadows I stand among,

the darkness I claim,

I watch your every move.

waiting for you to cross my path.

Yes, pray you mortal,

that I do not choose you this night.

There are many of my kind,

look around.....

you may yet notice the

longing stares upon your flesh.

for it is you that we crave,

your blood that

carrie's every moment of your

short pathetic live's

every drop upon my lip's

tell me of what you once we're.

Pray now, oh mortal,

pray you dont encounter

me this night.
